After cutting prices of the Ford Classic for a starting price of Rs
4.99 lakh in January, Ford has now cut prices even further for a
starting price of Rs 4.88 lakh. The price cut will help Ford position
the Classic more competitively in the entry-level sedan segment that is
currently dominated by the Maruti Swift and the Honda Amaze.
The Classic, which is simply the previous-generation Ford Fiesta sold
under a different name, is available with two engine options – the
1.6-litre petrol and the 1.4-litre diesel. The discontinuation of the
Hyundai Accent last year has now made the Classic one of the oldest cars
in the segment. It is, however, still one of the most engaging driver’s
cars on sale in India today.
